Minimum Balance Charge: There is no minimum balance required for the OneAccount Suite* of products.
Online Bill Payment Service: Online Bill Pay is a FREE feature of the OneAccount Suite that allows you to pay bills by generating a check or electronic online payment. With this service, you can use the funds in your account to pay anyone, anytime, anywhere in the U.S. This option is a convenient alternative to ordering checks and is especially useful to pay your landlord for rent or a bill where paying with your card is not an option.
Check Writing: Sometimes you might have to pay by check instead of using your Debit MasterCard®. If you do not have checks yet, or have written so many that you ran out, you can order more for a fee by logging into your account and visiting the Customer Service section.
Electronic Statements: Higher One is environmentally friendly and provides all monthly account statements electronically. Electronic statements are free of charge.
Higher One ATM Transactions: You can withdraw cash for free at Higher One ATMs.
Signature Debit MasterCard® Transactions: At check out, simply hand your card to the cashier, check the amount on the receipt and sign your name on the dotted line. Always select "credit," not "debit," in order to keep your transaction secure. Debit purchases made with a PIN are less secure and will result in unnecessary fees. Transactions processed as credit are covered by the MasterCard Zero Liability Policy provided by Higher One.
MasterCard® Zero Liability Protection Provided by Higher One: Signature Debit MasterCard transactions where you select "credit" when making a purchase are covered by the MasterCard Zero Liability Policy provided by Higher One. MasterCard Zero Liability policy means you are eligible for protection against fraudulent purchases made with your card when you report a card theft promptly. Incoming Wire Transfer (Domestic and International): Higher One does not charge a fee for incoming wires from U.S. or international banks.
Add Money to any of the OneAccount Suite of products: You can add money electronically from an existing third party bank account for free.
Family and Friends Send Money: Family and friends can send money electronically from their bank account to your account for free.
Transfer Money Between the OneAccount Suite of products: You can send money electronically to other OneAccount holders for free, including OneAccount Flex and OneAccount Premier account holders
Research: On some rare instances, you may be required to produce a large volume of banking documents to rectify a case of fraud; to address questions of taxation; or to simply unscramble some confused financial circumstances. If there was an error made by Higher One, of course, you will not be charged for this research. However, in other circumstances, when the research requires substantial effort on the part of Higher One staff, this will be billed hourly after the first hour.
Legal Services: You probably won't need legal services via Higher One, but if you do encounter a condition in which certain records are subpoenaed, or wages that are direct deposited into your account are to be garnished, then you will be charged for the legal services after the first hour.
